Ingredients:
Makes 10 slices
2 apples, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp water
1 ripe banana, mashed
120ml milk
2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Butter, for greasing
4 slices of bread
To serve:
Maple syrup
Method:
Step 1.
Combine the apples, sugar and water in a saucepan over a medium heat and simmer for five minutes until the sugar has dissolved. Cover and set aside.
Step 2.
Whisk the banana, milk and cinnamon (if using) in a shallow bowl.
Step 3.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Dip the bread into the banana mixture and place in the hot pan. Cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Top with the apples and serve immediately.
